A cinema graduate of FAAP (Brazil) and UCLA (USA), as well as a participant in the workshops Berlinale Talents and Locarno Industry Academy, Lidia Damatto has worked for several years in the production and programming of film festivals. She was a coordinator for the first edition of Ambulante California, a documentary film festival created by actors Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal. She has also served as program director for the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, held annually in Los Angeles focusing on Brazilian Independent films, and created and serves as a director for Cinema Novo – New Cinema from Brazil, a Brazilian cinema showcase held in New York City. Since 2015 she has been working for international sales label FiGa Films as a manager of Sales, Acquisitions and Festivals, attending international film markets and acting as an invited consultant on pitch forums, film development and post production labs.
