Marco Antonio Robledo

Dr. Marco Antonio Robledo (PhD, MBA, BA) is a Professor at the University of the Balearics (UIB), and an award-winning filmmaker (both director and screenwriter) and comic book author, among other sub-personalities you can find inside his head. He has served several academic positions at his University, such as School Director and Dean.

Although he mostly teaches management and leaderships skills, he often delivers courses of filmmaking and cinema management. He has been the director of the Filmmaking Workshop of the Universitat de les Illes Balears were he was responsible for the Screenwriting course. He teaches regularly at the Art Cinema=Action + Cinema Training Programme of CICAE, the International Confederation of Art Cinemas, which is an international training programme for professionals working in the art-house exhibition industry. He is also one of the lecturers of to the Next Wave programme at the Deutsche Film- und Fernseh-akademie (Berlin), a 9-month professional training programme focused on 21st-century film markets: sales, distribution, curatorship, marketing and audience engagement.

He is currently the vice-president of Cineciutat, a non-profit arthouse cinema, based in Mallorca, and self-managed by its members. The innovative example of Cineciutat has influenced many other cinemas in Spain and elsewhere.

He has also experience as a film critic and festival jury.
