Our winners of the Spectrum Festival in Świdnica

Produced at the Kieślowski Film School short films "Joanna d'Arc" (2022), dir. Aleksander Szamałek and "Quiver" (2022) dir. Joanna Różniak returns from the 8th edition of the Spektrum Film Festival in Świdnica with special mentions.

 "Joanna d'Arc" (2022), directed by Aleksander Szamałek, received a Special Mention in the Young Eye Competition for Document for "moving and empowering the story of a woman making choices that seem impossible to fulfill. The director does not judge his character. He portrays her world in a sensitive and honest way. "Joanna d'Arc" proves that the categories that define you, such as class, cultural or social affiliation, can always be crossed and that it is never too late to change." The award was granted by the jury composed of: Anna Serdiukow, Jakub Socha and Anna Zakrzewska.

The short film "Joanna d'Arc" also received the 2nd Prison Jury Prize awarded by inmates from the Detention Ward in Świdnica.

"Quiver" (2022), dir. Joanna Różniak received a Special Mention in the Young Eye Competition for Fiction. The award was granted by the Jury composed of people with disabilities from the Occupational Therapy Workshop in Mokrzeszów. The jury appreciated "showing disability, touch and dancing".

Among the winners of the festival is also "Sonata" dir. Bartosz Blaschke, who won the Spectrum Competition for feature fiction films. Bartosz Blaschke is a graduate of Cinematography at the Kieślowski Film School in Katowice and recently a tutor of the film:lab program organized by Kieślowski Film School.

The 8th edition of the Spektrum Film Festival was held on October 22-29, 2022 in Świdnica.
