Masterclass with Rafael Kapelinski from London Film School

We invite our students of Directing and Creative Management in New Media to sign up for online classes with Rafael Kapeliński, lecturer at, among others, London Film School and the prestigious AFI in Los Angeles.

Mr. Kapeliński will conduct classes in English focusing on directing a feature film. His masterclass will take place in February via the MS Teams platform. The first introduction classes will be held on January 29, 2021 from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm. In February, students will meet with the Lecturer regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays during regular sessions.

During the masterclass, issues related to the directing of a fictional film during the shooting period will be presented (e.g. working on a film set, working with an actor, cooperation with a cinematographer), various case studies will be discussed, and students will have the opportunity to perform a number of practical tasks in groups that include the teaching repertoire of directing students at AFI in Los Angeles.

Rafael Kapeliński, born in Toruń, began his career as the director of the festival office of the Camerimage Film Festival. He has made a number of films since 2006 short and fiction films that have won more than twenty-five international awards at major festivals such as Cannes, Oberhausen, Austin, New Horizons and Brest. His feature debut "Butterfly Kisses" (BBC Films / Film London / Microwave / Blue Shadows Films) won the Crystal Bear at the Berlinale in 2017. His fictional project "Up on the Roof" won the prestigious Cinefondation Residence award at the Cannes Film Festival. Lecturer at the London Film School and American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
