Our lecturer, dr hab. Jacek Hamela was nominated for the Icelandic EDDA Film and TV Academy Award in the category "Sound of the Year" for the sound design for the film "The Garden" (2020) directed by Ragnar Bragason. The Polish-Icelandic co-production received a total of 12 nominations, including for the best film. "The Garden" is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and its Polish co-producer is Beata Rzeźniczek from Madants.

Edda is the most important award given to film and television makers in Iceland. It was presented for the first time in 1999. The winners of this year's Edda awards will be announced in autumn 2021 during a traditional ceremony in Reykjavik.
