Anew (2020), dir. Zofia Sawicka was distinguished by the professional jury during the 21st International Film Schools Festival (FIEC) in Montevideo, Uruguay. Zofia Sawicka's short documentary won a special mention in an International Competition in the documentary film category.

The 21st International Film Schools Festival is the largest student festival in Uruguay, and our directing student's film was one of three Polish films in this year's program.

The festival took place on August 18-21, 2021. 62 short films, documentaries and animations from 58 film schools from 36 countries were qualified for the international competition.

Anew tells the story of Weronika, who tries to face the new reality right after leaving the sociotherapeutic center.

The film had its world premiere at the 39th Koszalin Festival of Film Debuts - Young and Film - in September last year.
