“Slave” and “EAST-WEST” nominatego to the Jan Machulski Awards

The films "Slave" (2021), dir. Grzegorz Piekarski and "EAST-WEST" (2020) dir. Natalia Koniarz produced at the Kieślowski Film School are returning from the WAMA Film Festival in Olsztyn and from the International Film Festival ZOOM-ZBLIŻENIA in Jelenia Góra with nominations for the Jan Machulski Awards (edition 2022).

"Slave" received nominations during the 8th edition of the WAMA Film Festival in the following categories:

  • "Best Director": Grzegorz Piekarski for the film "Slave"
  • "Best Editing": Nikodem Chabior for the film "Slave", dir. Grzegorz Piekarski

"EAST-WEST" received nominations at the 24th International Film Festival ZOOM-ZBLIŻENIA in the following categories:

  • Best Actor - Ihor Aronov for the film "EAST-WEST"
  • Best Cinematography - Stanisław Cuske for the film "EAST-WEST"

Moreover, the jury of the feature competition of the 24th ZOOM-ZBLIŻENIA International Film Festival, composed of Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Daniel Antosik, and Maria Sadowska, decided to give Natalia Koniarz special mention for her film "EAST-WEST".

Jan Machulski Awards were created for all filmmakers who create short films. In their assumption, they are to be the most prestigious Polish distinction dedicated to the creators of Polish short film. The first edition took place in 2005.
