Winners of the third edition of Freedom of Research

We know the winners of the 3rd edition of the Freedom of Research competition as part of the Research Excellence Initiative, among whom there were as many as six lecturers from the Kieślowski Film School in Katowice!

Prof. Dagmara Drzazga received funding in the amount of PLN 19,100, these funds are intended to support the implementation of research activities on the following topics: Documentary work entitled "A Mother's Tale". Life of the Jewish population in Zagłębie in the interwar period and its Holocaust during World War II. Uprising in the Będzin Ghetto inspired by the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in April 1943. The trauma of Holocaust survivors.

Prof. Andrzej Fidyk received funding in the amount of PLN 10,000, intended to be used to carry out a research activity with the subject: Exhibition of photographic works "Strange end of the 20th century”.

Anna Huth, PhD, received a grant of PLN 20,000 to carry out a research activity on the subject: Production of the feature-length documentary "Until the wedding" directed by Daniel Stopa

Prof. Rafał Milach received funding in the amount of PLN 20,000 to enable the implementation of research activities on the subject: Development of audiovisual and text material on the mass migration of civilians (9.4 million people crossed the border with Poland) as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Prof. Janusz Musiał received funding in the amount of PLN 20,000, aimed at contributing to the implementation of a research activity on the subject: International exhibition of art works Archeology of new media MMXXIII.

Prof. Adam Sikora received funding in the amount of PLN 10,000 to support the implementation of a research activity on the subject: Publication entitled "Towards Osiris".

The aim of the project organized as part of the Research Excellence Initiative is to improve the conditions for the scientific development of employees, build high-quality scientific achievements, disseminate and commercialize knowledge, and consequently increase the impact of the university's scientific activity on the development of world science.

Scientists could apply for co-financing of research activities in the amount of up to PLN 10,000, and in the case of international cooperation - up to PLN 20,000. Congratulations to all winners and good luck!
