The Norwegian premiere of the documentary film "Draugen", directed by prof. Dagmara Drzazga, lecturer at the Kieślowski Film School, was held in Kvitsøy on Thursday, June 22.
The film focuses on Wojciech Bogadoł, a man from Mikołów conscripted into the Wehrmacht. The Germans sent him to Norway, and he eventually found himself in Kvitsøy, where he discovered love. A Norwegian family embraced him as their own. With time, Wojciech entered the underground because he swore in Poland that he would not "serve the Germans".
The premiere, held at the Historical Center, was attended by the town community. The filmmakers, who had visited the town four years ago to take photographs for the documentary, were welcomed with open arms because the story depicted in the film is still something close to the hearts of the townspeople.
