The Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia invites you to our Open Days!

Are you interested in film and television directing? Do you write scripts? Perhaps you are in the midst of the creative process and would like to consult your work so far? Do you want to apply for Film and Television Directing at our faculty? We have an offer for you during the Open Days!

On April 26, 2024, at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School, script consultations will be held. The hours of these consultations will be set individually with the scriptwriters. Please familiarize yourself with the requirements.

APPLICATIONS ARE PROCESSED IN THE ORDER THEY ARE RECEIVED. LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE.

We are waiting for script submissions for documentary and feature films, under the conditions:

• A maximum of 30 pages is subject to consultation (if the script has more pages),
• The person applying for a consultation is entitled to only one genre - feature or documentary (it is not possible to consult two scripts),
• Submissions are to be made to the email address (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), in the message, in addition to scripts - please leave information such as first and last name, phone number, and the name of the current/completed high school/university. In the message, please also indicate your time preferences and consultant,
• Submissions are accepted until April 15, 2024.

The following lecturers from the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School will conduct the consultations:

👤 Dr. hab. Dagmara Drzazga, prof. UŚ (documentary scripts, max. 10) - a journalist and director at Polish Television, long associated with the TVP branch in Katowice, author of documentary films, reports, programs on cultural topics, as well as scientific articles and essays.

👤 Dr. hab. Michał Rosa, prof. UŚ (feature scripts, max. 3) - a director and screenwriter. A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice and Film and Television Directing at the Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia in Katowice. For the short film "Military Games" he was nominated for a student Oscar in 1991.

👤 Mgr Jan Foryś (feature scripts, max. 10) - a professional director of commercial films. Winner of the first edition of the Papaya Young Directors competition, also a juror in subsequent editions. Jury chairman in the Grand Press Video Awards contest. Creator of the world's first commercial video in vertical format.

Each qualified individual will receive an individual consultation time (10-15 minutes). In exceptional cases, it is possible to conduct consultations online, however, in-person consultations are preferred - so please reserve a sufficient amount of time on April 26th of this year. The 2024 Open Days take place during the 21st edition of the Węgiel Film Festival.
