On Thursday, April 28, 2022, we invite students of film and television production to participate in workshops with Jarosław Boliński, a film and advertising producer. Workshop meeting entitled "The music video production market" will take place at 12:00 in room 3.08 of the Kieślowski Film School at ul. Pawła 3 in Katowice.
Jarosław Boliński is a film and advertising producer. He graduated in the film and television production at the Radio and Television Faculty of the University of Silesia in Katowice (currently the Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia). The founder of the Propeller Film media house, which has produced several dozen advertising spots. Jarosław Boliński produced the film "Mr. T." awarded at festivals (2019) directed by Marcin Krzyształowicz, who received 12 nominations for the Polish Film Awards Eagles 2020, and eventually received two Eagle statuettes.
The film "The Hero" (2021), dir. Milena Dutkowska, produced at the Kieślowski Film School was awarded as the best Eastern European film with a prize worth 1,500 Euro funded by the city of Selb during the 45th edition of Grenzland-Filmtage Selb in Germany.
"The Hero" tells the story of Cyprian - a 10-year-old orphan who, faced with suffering, dreams of becoming a true hero. The film's cinematographer is Igor Połaniewicz. Ernest Małkiewicz was responsible for production management. The producer of the film is Krystyna Doktorowicz (Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia).
The Grenzland-Filmtage Selb International Film Festival aims to support new and emerging talent. The 45th edition of the Grenzland-Filmtage Selb was held on April 21-24 in Selb.
Candidates for the course in Film Directing and the course in Cinematography and Photography in the academic year 2022/2023 are invited to take advantage of script and a photographic portfolio consultations as part of the Open Days of the Kieślowski Film School during the 19th edition of the Węgiel Film Festival (May 12-15, 2022).

In the case of a larger number, we choose the scenario which was sent as the first attachment. In the title of the message, please write "Consultations Open Days SF". "Roving Woman" - the Polish-American feature fiction debut of Michał Chmielewski, this year's graduate of directing at the Kieślowski Film School will be presented in the Viewpoints section of the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
"Roving Woman" is a road movie, the main protagonist of which is a young girl. Thrown out of the house, Sara steals the car, which becomes her only refuge. Traveling through the deserts of California, she meets extraordinary but lost people who, like her, are looking for their own way. Meanwhile, she discovers the contents of the car and decides to find its owner.
"Roving Woman" is a Polish-American coproduction in which Chmielewski managed to engage many renowned American artists. The film features Oscar-nominated John Hawkes ("Winter’s Bone", "Me and You and Everyone We Know") and Chris Hanley (producer of cult films such as "American Psycho", "Buffalo '66 and "Spring Breakers"). The executive producer of the film is the legend of the road cinema Wim Wenders. The main role alongside John Hawkes is played by Lena Góra - an actress known in Poland from the series "The King of Warsaw" by Jan P. Matuszyński.
The Tribeca Film Festival will be held in New York from June 9-18.
Films from the Kieślowski Film School are included in the program of the 27th National Film Festival "Prowincjonalia 2022", which will be held in Września from 20 to 23 April.
The program of this year's "Prowincjonalia" includes three short fiction films produced by the Kieślowski Film School: "The Hero" (2021), dir. By Milena Dutkowska, "Mother's Day" (2021) dir. Patryk Kaflowski and "Bonds" (2022) dir. Aleksandra Kamińska.
"Prowincjonalia" is a festival in the form of a competition for the best Polish fiction, television and documentary films in which the world of simple, universal values, subtlety and aesthetics of narration dominates. The aim of the festival is to popularize Polish film art and emphasize the role of film in social life. The festival returns after a two-year pandemic break.
