"Imprisoned" (2021), directed by Piotr Bieliński and produced at the Kieślowski Film School, has won the Paul Calinescu Documentary Award at the 26th edition of the CineMAiubit International Student Short Film Festival in Bucharest. The jury was composed of Oana Iancu, Suzy Gillett, Rodica Lazar, Corina Stavila, Calin Boto, Dragan Milinkovic Fimon, and Marius Panduru.

Marek Kita and Jan Barszczewski handled the cinematography for "Imprisoned." Maja Krężel was responsible for production management. Prof. Andrzej Fidyk, Prof. Beata Dzianowicz, and Bartosz Konopka supervised the production. The film was produced by Prof. Krystyna Doktorowicz.

Two more films produced at the Kieślowski Film School competed at the festival:

The 26th edition of the CineMAiubit International Student Short Film Festival took place December 6-10, 2022. The festival's primary goal is to promote student creativity and strengthen relations between film schools. The National University of Film and Drama "I.L.Caragiale" in Bucharest and the CineMAiubit Foundation organized the festival.

The eighth edition of the Play Poland Film Festival, which takes place December 9–18 in the British Isles, will present nineteen etudes produced at the Kieślowski Film School. The film school is a partner of the festival.

The Play Poland Film Festival is the largest mobile film event promoting contemporary Polish cinema in the British Isles. On a specially built VOD internet platform, viewers can watch the latest full-length and short Polish productions.

Agnieszka Smoczyńska and Damian Kocur, graduates of the Kieślowski Film School, are nominated for this year’s Polityka’s Passport Awards in the film category. Agnieszka Smoczyńska is nominated for her film, “Silent Twins,” and Damian Kocur for “Bread and Salt.” The winners will be announced on January 17, 2023, during an official gala at the Grand Theater-National Opera. The event will be broadcast on TVN.

Polityka’s Passport is one of Poland’s most prestigious cultural awards, highly valued by artists and art critics. It is also one of the longest-running cultural awards in our country.

The 13th edition of the Macau International Short Film Festival, which will take place in Macau, China, has selected dozens of titles from all over the world. The competition selections include three etudes produced at the Kieślowski Film School.

The selected films and their respective directors and crew members are listed below:

"The Ceremony" (2021), directed by our graduate, Tadeusz Kabicz, is also among the selected titles.

Since 2010, the Macau International Short Film Festival has been held in Macau, China. The festival is divided into two competitions: "SHORTS," which awards the best short films in the documentary, fiction, and animation categories, and "VOLUME," which is for music videos. The 13th edition of the Macau International Short Film Festival takes place December 1–8, 2022.

"Quiver", directed by Joanna Różniak and produced at the Kieślowski Film School, has won the main award, Mayor of the City of Gdańsk Award, at the 31st Euroshorts 2022 Young Filmmakers International Film Festival. The festival had 60 short films from 23 countries competing for prizes. A jury chaired by Dr. Monika Bokiniec awarded the main prize. The award, funded by the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk, is worth PLN 3,000.

Łukasz Łatanik served as the cinematographer for "Quiver". Jakub Lebiedziński handled the production management, and Prof. Michał Rosa supervised the production. The producer of the film is Prof. Krystyna Doktorowicz.

The 31st Euroshorts 2022 Young Filmmakers International Film Festival started on November 28 and lasted until December 4, 2022, in Gdańsk. The festival has the EFFE Label “Remarkable Arts Festival 2022-2023.”
