The documentary film "Martwy sezon" directed by Dagmara Drzazga talks about the poet from Mikołów Rafał Wojaczek. The director worked on the film for almost three years. The film was made by TVP3 Katowice.
The premiere of the film "Martwy sezon" took place on Sunday, November 18 at 18.00 in the Kosmos cinema in Katowice.

The 12th OFFeliada Film Festival has brought a real rain of prizes:

The Main Award of the Festival in the category of documentary went to the film Dust dir. Kuba Radej DoP Józefina Gocman, prod. Krystyna Dobrzańska and the Special Mentions to Dregs dir. Kordian Kądziela, DoP Piotr Chodura, prod. Katarzyna Kostecka.

The "Ikar" award from the Gniezno Fantasy Club Fantasmagoria for the best film in the fantasy or science fiction genre was granted to the film "Where is the grandfather" dir. Adam Uryniak DoP Dagmara Kunecka, prod. Daria Spychała.

Studio award Fotostube for the best pictures received Dagmara Kunecka and the award "ŁOŁ!" for directing was granted to Adam Uryniak for the film "Where is the grandfather".

The jury awarded nominations for the Jan Machulski Polish Independent Cinema Award:
- in the category "Best Screenplay" for: Kordian Kądziela for the film Dregs
- in the category of "Best Editing" for: Kuba Radej for the film Dust
- in the category of "Best Documentary Film" for Kuba Radej for the film Dust

The Piotr Domalewski, the graduate of the Faculty of Radio and Television, was also awarded the Stanisław Brzozowski Krytyka Polityczna Award for "a special social sensitivity of a film work" for the film "60 kilos of nothing".

At the New Cinema Festival in Nowy Sącz, which ended on Saturday, our productions were awarded:

The Silver Sendivogius Award went to Damian Kocur (DoP Robert Lis, prod. Tomasz Kiełbasa) for the film Nothing New Under the Sun for the Buddhist smile of the hero.

The Bronze Sendivogius Award went to Kuba Radej (DoP Józefina Gocman, prod. Martyna Dobrowolska) for the film Sweet home Czyżewo for a bittersweet look at Poland.

Awarded has been also the independent production of our students "Bogdan and Róża", dir. Milena Dutkowska (prod. Grzegorz Grabowski, Joanna Śniegucka). The Photo Sendivogius Award was awarded to Igor Kazimierz Połaniewicz for the cohesion of picture with the story and fantastic portraits.

The new building of our faculty was nominated for the prestigious Fundació Mies van der Rohe award. The award was funded by the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Miesa van der Rohe Foundation in Barcelona. It has been awarded since 1987 every two years to completed projects. Conceptual, technical and constructional values are assessed. The award is called after Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, a German architect, precursor of modern architecture.
Among the winners there were among others project of Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmony in Szczecin by Alberto Veiga & Fabrizio Barozzi.

A new drama by Jarosław Świerszcz, a native citizen of Chorzów, was written on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of granting the royal rights to Królewska Huta. On October 6, in the Chorzów Cultural Center, the first public reading of the play took place, and was performed by Barbara Lubos, Olgierd Łukaszewicz and Andrzej Mastalerz.

The stage is the interior of a small antiquarian shop, or rather a store with "antiques" which are several in the city in its various districts; usually sad and poor. Many times I have wondered who are the people opening such places. Art lovers? Junk merchants with ambitions? Or maybe they just love it and would not be able to live without collecting, displaying in display cases, selling, exchanging for other ordinary and strangest things; covered with dust, patina, cracked, forgotten, and by these merchants somehow miraculously resurrected to life and use. Is this a good deal? Because I know – writes Ingmar Villqist. That's how the story told by him begins...
