At the special invitation of our lecturer prof. UŚ dr hab. Marcin Koszałka Piotr Stasik visited our students giving a lecture on Zoom platform on 18.05.2020. The classes were entitled "Visual director, between the documentary and the feature film." The director conducted his lecture based on the movie "21x New York", in which he brings to the screen twenty-one stories of New Yorkers, which form a picture of the society of the twenty-first century.

Piotr Stasik is a Polish director, screenwriter, cinematographer and documentary film editor. His documentaries have been shown and awarded at over 100 festivals around the world. Piotr Stasik is a laureate of Polish Film Award and Eagle. For his film "21 x New York" he was nominated for the European Film Award in the Best Documentary Film category.

Classes were dedicated to directing and cinematography students, but other students were welcomed to participate as observers.

The virtual open days of the Kieślowski Film will include e-consultation of portfolios for candidates for the course in cinematography. The open days will be taking place between 3-5.06.2020.

Candidates for course in cinematograph are requested to send their portfolios in pdf format to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. until Friday, May 29, 2020 until 24:00. Sent portfolios should contain 20-30 best photos collected over time. At the same time, the candidates can add titles to their photographs. The working resolution of a single page should be 1920 × 1080. The title page should contain the name of the candidate + the formula "Open days of film school 2020".

In response to the email, the candidates will receive confirmation regarding the day and time of the individual consultation meeting on the ZOOM platform.If necessary, we can send each candidate a sample portfolio.

On the part of the Kieślowski Film School Krzysztof, participation in consultations confirmed by prof. UŚ dr hab. Janusz Musiał, prof. UŚ dr hab. Ryszard Czernow, prof. UŚ dr hab. Marcin Koszałka and dr hab. Adam Sikora.

Virtual open days of the Kieślowski Film School Krzysztof will be held between 3-5.06.2020.

During the event, e-consultation of photographic portfolios for candidates for cinematography, as well as consultations of scripts for the candidates for directing and special producer talks for production students are planned.

Candidates for film directing are requested to send treatments and scripts or selected scenes from their scripts to the following email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Submitted texts must be saved in a pdf format.

Dr hab. Beata Dzianowicz and prof. UŚ dr Jarosław Świerszcz / Ingmar Villqist will discuss the works of the candidates and give them all the necessary tips for their future career in our School.

Works will be accepted until Friday, May 29, 2020 until 24:00. They will then be randomly assigned to a consultant, and candidates will be notified by email about the date and time of the meeting with our lecturers. Meetings will be held in the Zoom application. Candidates will receive specific links to their meetings.

We will inform you soon about the details of portfolios' e-consultation for cinematography candidates.

Martwe z Natury. Suplement / poster

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition of Ryszard Czernow's cybergraphy “Martwe z natury. Suplement”/"Dead from Nature. Supplement". The opening will take place on May 8, 2020 at 18.00 on the Facebook profile of the Municipal Art Gallery "Obok" operating at the Small Theater in Tychy. The exhibition is a joint venture of the Kieślowski Film School and the Municipal Art Gallery "Obok" in Tychy.

Professor UŚ dr hab. Ryszard Czernow is a precursor to the creative use of digital techniques in artistic photography. A cinematographer by education, who for many years has also been involved in graphic design. A very subjective author's photo plays a special role in his projects. Ryszard Czernow is the creator of posters for many feature films, including directors such as: Krzysztof Zanussi, Agnieszka Holland, Feliks Falk, Jan Jakub Kolski, Jan Kidawa Błoński and for theater performances at the Juliusz Słowcki Theatre in Krakow. As a director and cinematographer, he made a number of music videos for cult Polish music groups, such as Republika, Dżem, Shakin and Dudi.

Students of the Kieślowski Film School are invited to a special online lecture that is the penultimate foretaste before this year's edition of the Węgiel Film Festival (May 13-15, 2020). This time at the invitation of prof. UŚ dr hab. Rafał Milach we will be listening to Wojciech Wilczyk - poet, photographer, author of essays and critical texts on art. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 11.00 on ZOOM.

Wojciech Wilczyk was twice nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize. He received an honorable mention in the Photographic Publication of the Year 2009 competition (album: Niewinne oko nie istnieje) and the Photo Book of the Year award at the Grand Press Photo 2015 competition (album Święta Wojna). Since 2009, he has been running a blog: hiperrealizm.blogspot.com. Together with Grzegorz Wróblewski, he implemented the intermedial project Blue Pueblo (2013-2014), combining text and photographs, which are accompanied by an artbook published in 350 numbered and signed copies. The series entitled Powiększenia implemented in the years 2016-2018 was presented at the exhibition Widok zza bliska. Inne obrazy zagłady at the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow (1/12/2018-31/03/2019).
